COURSE INFORMATION
Build confidence in the workshop while crafting a beautiful side table from start to finish. This hands-on course runs over five Saturday sessions of up to three hours each, with small classes limited to six students, to ensure each student receives personal guidance and attention.
Along the way, you’ll gain practical experience with a wide range of tools and techniques, including screws and adhesives, jigsaws, routers, orbital/belt sanders, drill bits, and band/scroll saws. You’ll also learn key joinery methods such as pocket hole and biscuit wafer joinery, mortise and tendon joints, and how to neatly conceal screws with plugs. The course also covers Z-clip installation and introduces the safety principles of table saw use. The cost includes your building and finishing materials. You will be using pine for your project, with the option to upgrade to kiaat or ash (at an additional surcharge).
There will be a maximum of 30 minutes of discussion of the equipment to be used and the techniques involved.
