Woodturning is a versatile woodworking technique that transforms raw wood into functional and decorative items using a lathe. From mastering tool handling to understanding grain direction, this course equips you with the knowledge and confidence to continue woodturning independently.
Session Overview
- Safety and Machine Introduction: Learn the basics of safety, equipment, tools, and techniques.
- Tall Candleholder: Practice shaping and cutting to craft a functional candleholder.
- Rolling Pin: Develop precision while creating a smooth and evenly shaped rolling pin.
- Festive Decorations or Honey Dippers: Explore decorative techniques with small, detailed items.
- Wide-Base Candleholder: Master cross-grain turning for a sturdy and elegant candleholder
COSTS
The cost of this course is R 1 550.
All tools, timber, and equipment is supplied. Students will go home with their own creation.
