Wood Workbench Building Course

Build a Compact & Sturdy Workbench

Two-Day Practical Woodworking Course

A solid workbench is the foundation of good woodworking. In this hands-on course, students will build a compact yet sturdy wooden workbench, ideal for home workshops, garages, or limited spaces.

This course is designed for woodworkers who want to improve their practical skills while creating a useful, long-lasting piece of workshop furniture to take home.

What You Will Learn

  • Reading and working from a cutting list and basic plans.
  • Accurate measuring, marking, and cutting.
  • Safe use of workshop machinery and hand tools.
  • Assembly techniques for strength and durability.
  • Squaring, clamping, and finishing fundamentals

By the end of the course, each student will have built and completed their own fully functional workbench.

  • Beginners wanting a solid first furniture project.
  • Hobbyist woodworkers upgrading their workshop.
  • Anyone looking to build practical woodworking skills in a supportive environment.

No prior woodworking experience is required, although basic familiarity with tools is helpful.

  • Course Fee: R 4 500 per person.
  • Includes:
    • All timber and materials.
    • Use of tools and machinery.
    • Expert instruction in a small-group setting.
    • Your completed workbench to take home.

    This is a 2-day course held on Saturdays with each session running for 2,5 hours.
